Textile Interior Design by Maria Larsen
I am an independent textile and interior designer from Copenhagen, Denmark, now based in Austria.
With a background in fashion, I bring the same attention to detail, craftsmanship and sense of aesthetics into my interior designs.
I create simple, functional pieces for everyday living — familiar objects and essentials, reimagined through colour, texture and thoughtful design.
My intention is to create timeless pieces that add a personal and distinctive touch to your space.
PRODUCTS

CUSTUM DESIGN & PRODUCT.
Each piece is handmade personally by me,
from the selection of materials to the final details.
Time and precision is just as important as beauty and quality.
In times with mass production, it is me an honour to offer a limited amount of customised products a year, no project is too small or too big.
If you have any questions about my existing products.
Or CUSTOMISED products –
Please do not hesitate to get in touch.

WAITING LIST
Each piece is unique and handmade by me, with a strong emphasis on craftsmanship, detail and quality.
As I work in small quantities and each design involves a considered, often individual process, a waiting list may apply (up to six month). The time and care devoted to each piece are an essential part of its character and uniqueness.
If you are interested in a particular piece or would like to discuss a bespoke design, please feel free to get in touch.

Thoughtfully made. Responsibly created.
I believe that beautiful design should be created with respect for nature.
As part of my commitment to a more responsible approach, I follow a no-waste philosophy and keep only a small selection of trims and fabrics in stock.
Materials are ordered specifically for each piece, which allows me to minimise unnecessary waste and reduce my environmental impact.
This approach may occasionally result in a longer delivery time. I kindly ask for your patience and understanding.

THE ART OF THE WASH
How to maintain.
With few exceptions all textile pieces can be machine-washed at handwashing’s 30°C. Each piece should be treated with care and appreciation, allowing the material to evolve naturally over time.
Creating a soft, matt finish with a tactile surface
I pre-wash all fabrics at 30°C with a gentle spin of 900 rpm. This allows the cotton to shrink slightly while gently releasing any residual colour from the dyeing process. The result is a softer, paler and more matt surface.
Through this process, the fibres subtly transform, creating depth, texture and a sense of individuality within the material. It is a slow process that requires time and patience, but this is precisely where the beauty lies.
The finished fabric has a naturally worn, understated character — a sense of age and authenticity that gives a brand-new design the feeling of something already cherished and lived with.
